‘A Precious Thing’ is the new single from rising Australian artist Grace Cummings. Her music is cinematic in its grandeur, with an orchestral accompaniment ebbing and flowing along with her deep, bold voice, which moves from delicate restraint, through sheer power, and towards devastation. ‘A Precious Thing’ is taken from her upcoming album, Ramona, which is being released on April 5th, 2024. “I wrote that at a time when I wasn’t doing well and had the sense that other people saw me as a weak little bird,” she explains. “I didn’t want to be myself so I decided to be Ramona instead, full of intensity and melodrama. For me there’s a lot of safety in putting on a costume or a mask; sometimes it feels like the only way to express any true honesty or vulnerability. Grace Cummings will be heading out on tour with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard in the UK and Europe this Spring. -Dan Peeke
